What the program covers:
DTE Energy's commercial efficiency program operates under Michigan's Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) framework and offers comprehensive incentives for commercial lighting retrofits. The program covers fixture upgrades, networked lighting controls, and combined-measure projects, with both prescriptive and custom incentive paths.
How the application process works:
DTE generally requires pre-approval for custom-incentive and larger prescriptive projects. The program emphasizes use of DLC-qualified products for fixture-level incentives and DLC-listed networked lighting controls qualification for controls incentives. Post-installation documentation typically includes installed quantities, product confirmations, and where applicable, commissioning reports for networked controls.
Echelon manages DTE program submission end-to-end. We prepare pre-approval applications including photometric layouts and product cut sheets, coordinate with DTE's program implementer, manage post-installation submission with all required documentation, and ensure the customer's project remains in good standing with the program from kickoff through rebate payment.
